Good tutorials for computer programming/ app. building?

Hey,


I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutorials that will help me to begin building computer applications. I don't mind if it includes learning a new ';language';, because it's something I'm really interested in doing. However, I'm having trouble finding anything. (perhaps I just don't know what to search for? haha.)
