I am looking to learn to program, one language at a time, over a period of about 2 years. Ultimately, I want to make everything from gaming modifications, to word processors, to extremely complex programs. I'm looking to learn C, C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, and anything else that would give me the ability to make something amazing.Does anyone know a site for programming tutorials, and step by step guides?
The only language you need to know to learn programming is English - you don't learn computer programming by learning programming languages any more than you learh cardiac surgery in France by learning French. Try http://www-old.oberon.ethz.ch/WirthPubl/鈥?/a> for starters. Then you can think about learning languages. You have to learn to crawl before you can train for the marathon.
Oh, and set your sights just a bit longer. 2 years of programming as a hobby isn't quite entry-level. (2 years of doing it for a living, under supervision, with a single language, is.)Does anyone know a site for programming tutorials, and step by step guides?
For programing like Python, you can try Alice
http://www.alice.org/
There are several website languages you could learn. This site has many tutorials:
http://www.w3schools.com/
Also http://www.good-tutorials.com might be useful.
Hope this helps.
