Where can I find tutorials on how the programs on ti-calculators work?

I was wondering where can I find more advanced stuff on ti-calc programs and how existing functions work. For example, how does the derivative and integral function work exactly? More of practical stuff, less of useless games and trick programs.Where can I find tutorials on how the programs on ti-calculators work?
Uhh, if you have a ti-83 or 84, just hit math 8 for derivative and math 9 for integrals. for derivatives put in the function, then a comma, then the variable you used in the equation (likely X) then a comma, then the point you want the slope at. For integrals, enter the function, then a comma, then variable you used in the function (likely x), then a comma, then the smaller number you want the area under, then a comma, then the larger number you would like. I hope that helps because I don't know of a tutorial, You could always just look at your manual =)Where can I find tutorials on how the programs on ti-calculators work?
    1
Well, if you have a TI-83, then you can have the calculator figure out the integral or derivative at a certain point:

Press Math and then scroll down. You should see FnInt( and nderiv( . FnInt is the integration, and deriv is the derivative. The derivative is the slope of the tangent line, while the integral is the area under the curve.
    This should help:

I was wondering if there is a version of Rosetta Stone that teaches you Programming such as Objective-C, C++, or even C. I like how Rosetta Stone teaches and I don't like so much PDF's. If there are even video tutorials on teaching Objective-C that would be cool. Rosetta Stone did a good job teaching me Japanese if anyone knows something like Rosetta Stone that teaches you programming that would be awesome... thanks.Rosetta Stone programming? or videos tutorials?
No there's no Rosetta Stone for programming languages.

And I agree, I'm not a big fan of reading through PDF's either.

I say the best advice would be go to Border's and pick up a book for the language you want. Just look at some reviews on Amazon to see which one you should get.

But there are some videos on Objective-C. Stanford had an iPhone programming class and they have their lectures on their website and you can watch them for free. iPhone apps are made with Objective-C so they cover it in the lectures, but mainly in the beginning ones.

If you wanna check the videos out they're at: cs193p.stanford.eduRosetta Stone programming? or videos tutorials?
Yes, there are def. software programs out there for objective-c, C++, and C.

I found 50 results for software programs here:

    Programming Languages Tutorials?

I know decent XHTML (planning on moving to XML sometime) and have started Python, but have not done much.

It really depends on what you are looking to do. My normal recommendation to someone wanting to get into web design is to start with XHTML and CSS, then JavaScript, then PHP and MySql. If you master those, you will be able to develop most any sight that you want to develop. There are some excellent tutorials available at the site of W3C

    http://www.w3.org/

    Also, if you are interested in a particular language do a search for tutorials under that language. For example try this with Google.... ';Free online tutorials for PHP';

    Programming Languages Tutorials?

Any recommendations on which language to start with?

I know decent XHTML (planning on moving to XML sometime) and have started Python, but have not done much.

Also, any recommended sites/books that have decent tutorials?

Thanks in advance! =DProgramming Languages Tutorials?
It really depends on what you are looking to do. My normal recommendation to someone wanting to get into web design is to start with XHTML and CSS, then JavaScript, then PHP and MySql. If you master those, you will be able to develop most any sight that you want to develop. There are some excellent tutorials available at the site of W3C

    http://www.w3.org/

    Also, if you are interested in a particular language do a search for tutorials under that language. For example try this with Google.... ';Free online tutorials for PHP';

Also, I would recommend joining HTML forums at http://www.htmlforums.com/ It is a great forum with a lot of members all willing to help in whatever way they can.

If you're new at programming and have no experience at all, Java isn't the best programming language to start out with. Those IDEs can be confusing at times, I started out with Python programming before learning other languages, Python was easier to understand, didn't require complex IDEs, had a clearer Syntax, and was able to produce great 2D/3D applications. :)Does anyone know any Java tutorials that are good for someone without any programming experience at all?
    http://math.hws.edu/javanotes/

It's free. You don't really need an up-to-date expensive book to learn the basics of programming, and for the most part beginning programming is pretty much all the same.

The best way to learn is by trying it yourself though, so try to write any examples they give by yourself before copying someone else's code.

Finding a class is the fastest way though, learning to program without a real teacher is definitely tougher than having a teacher to answer questions.

Does anyone know where I might find SAS programming tutorials for beginners?

While not having done any research on SAS programming prior to this, I did manage to pull up a couple of web addresses and references that will hopefully put you in the right direction. Feel free to IM/email me if my answer (or potentially someone elses that may be more qualified in the field) should it not quite be enough and I will see what I can do. And as a general reference (I didn't see if they have one for SAS, but...) the 'for Dummies' books are exceptionally well written, allowing people to absorb as much or as little, at once, as they want. They also manage to further educate most all highly-experienced people as well. I have yet to personally find a more well-written off-the-presses set of instructional guides for the Computer Science field. Good luck!

Ignore suggestions to try W3Schools since:

    (a) It's content is very low quality

    and

    (b) It doesn't touch on Java at all (although it does have some mention of JavaScript - but that is a completely different language with as much in common with Java as Carpets have with Cars).
Go to google, then search ';Introduction to Java Programming.'; and you will end up on some guy's site, get the PDF there.

You can also browse books on Amazon, then search for them on www.scribd.com and you may be able to get them for free.

If you want to become very productive, you need to have a suitable foundation. Here is the MIT beginning computer science course book:

    http://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/

You can get the entire book for free as HTML and also the Scheme interpreter that is used for the examples. If you give some requirements of your project I might be able to recommend a specific language. An example of a requirement might be:

';I need to write a program that will accept a set of files as input. Each file contains the study materials for a text book. The program should print out the number of times the word 'ancillary' occurs in each file.';Does anyone know of any free programming tutorials suitable for a behavioral psychologist?
Try to pick up a scripting language. BASIC is a good starting point. Even C++ without GUI is easy to learn. pick up a good book, the basics you can master in couple of weeks.

Basically you need to sign in with a windows LIVE or Hotmail account and verify your student status. The Word Doc was originally written for fellow students at ITT Tech but it should be easy for you to reference what to use or not to use from it.

On Dreamspark, there's a program called ';IT ACADEMY'; and it covers Microsoft Windows Framework 2.0 and covers some programming and SQL Server 2005 to prepare you for a Microsoft Certification. Total time it takes for them... Estimated 12+ hours.

You will also benefit ability to download and burn Visual Studios 2005 and 2008 Professional Editions. Requires a DVD Burner...

    OR

Install Virtual PC, Load the Server 2003 ISO and install it.

Once you install, Install the ';Additional Virtual PC'; package and link folders together(Click the folder on bottom left of Virtual PC window) to copy the DVD ISO

Then load the Visual Studios 2008 ISO to VPC w/ server 2003 and copy the Files from the CD through the shared folders between VPC and your real PC folders.

IT works... lol Just follow those steps on how and you'll understand it.

The only language you need to know to learn programming is English - you don't learn computer programming by learning programming languages any more than you learh cardiac surgery in France by learning French. The formula for a great computer programmer is simple but hard to put into action:

    1) Find something you love to do and expand on it or create it (an open source project, a game, an IRC client, whatever)

    2) Find the right programming language for the job. Python is a great introductory language for just about anything you want to do.

    3) Find a tutorial or a book on google or amazon that matches your requirements (basics, advanced socket programming, and so on)

    4) Get your project working, release it to the public, and get feedback

    5) Listen carefully to this feedback and improve your code, tweak your code, break your code, and you will learn fast, well, and get tons of new skills in the process

The trick is just sticking with a project you love and seeing other people use it and give you feedback. The best programming language and concepts tutorials usually come in the form of fairly expensive textbooks for introductory college courses seeking to explain the basics. There are gems of tutorials on the internet, but you will have to google around to find them.

One of the lead developers on Mozilla Firefox started around your age, and today it has gotten him miles ahead of most other young adults his age. Good luck in your quest!
You can google what compiler you use followed by tutorial, and that should come up with a result or a few of that subject. pscode.com always helped me. I'm 14 now, and I've learned so much from pscode and google. Right now I know Visual Basic, PHP, some C/C++ and C#, Javascript, HTML, CSS, and more, all from google and pscode.
